In order to preserve the health and quality of each goat, we require Bio-Security testing of your doe, results not older than 12 months. We can assist you with the testing (Caprine Arthritis Encephalitis (CAE), Caseous Lymphadenitis (CL), and Johne's).

We prefer to get the does in heat. Therefore the stud fee includes two days of boarding for your doe(s).

For each day after that we charge $5/day for feed and care. Discounts for groups of does available.

Here is a link for great information in assisting a goat into estrus. CLICK HERE,  You can also consult with your local vet to synchronize estrus for your does with the assistance of prostaglandin.

Service Fee: $40 for one doe, $30 for each additional doe if sired by the same buck within same service, includes two days of boarding for the doe(s), after that $5 boarding fee each doe/day (includes hay and mineral feed)

We can offer transportation for up to 12 does, please contact us directly to make arrangements. We accept major credit cards as form of payment

Bio-Security panel test

We use SAGE AG Labs, their testing for this panel is done on Thursdays so you need to make sure to request the service with plenty  time for transit.

Stud Lease

​

We understand the complexity of owning a buck for a small backyard herd. Keeping a buck full-time is quite an undertaking!

​

If you are interested in leasing a Buck please contact us to discuss. Our policy is listed below, you will be required to sign a contract and make a partially refundable deposit, which will be credited back once the buck is returned to Usaquen Farms: Alive and in perfect health condition.

​

Requirements for Herd Owner:

​

  • Current proof of CAE, CL and Johnes negative tests results for all animals exposed to the buck

  • Current CDT vaccination records

  • Visible hoof trimming for the herd and no evidence of hoof rot

  • Agree to offer a farm visit to ensure environment is appropriate for our bucks: Adequate fencing, shelter,water/hay/browse

  • Agrees to keep Doe(s) confined and inaccessible to other male goats from start of estrus until doe is fully out of heat

  • Agrees to house our sire separately form any other unaltered males at all times

  • There is NO acceptance for subleasing or accepting visiting goats from other farms. Lease agreement implies extensive fines for this type of arbitration.

  • Allow us to verify Famancha scores on prospecting does, it is very important for the effectiveness of a pregnancy to have a healthy vitamin and mineral regimen and this will allow us to fulfill our service satisfactorily.

Usaquen Farms Service consist of a 30 day agreement for the buck to be leased out, any additional day will have a late fee of $7 which will be deducted from the deposit. Should the buck returned to our farm exceeding 14 days from agreement the lessee forfeits the full deposit

​

All fees are payment for the stud service only and are not to be construed as a guarantee of kids. If a Doe fails to become pregnant the Doe(s) Owner may notify us not more than 65 days after the date of the breeding. There shall be no refund in whole or part, but a return service to the same Buck shall be provided at the same Doe’s next heat if both are still available; if not available, to an agreed alternate.

The same Health and Care Requirements, as listed above, apply. An agreed upon fully refundable deposit will be made at this time; to be refunded when the Buck is returned alive and unharmed. If the Doe fails to become pregnant as a result of this second (14 Day) breeding, then this agreement shall be terminated and we Usaquen Farms shall have no further obligations.

If ownership of the Doe changes, right of return service shall a decision we will consider upon inspecting new owners facilities however we reserve the right to continue this agreement.
